
The Chairman of National Council for Civic Education and Democracy has paid an official visit to the Deputy Minister 2 of Finance, Madam Jenneh Jabati on Tuesday 9th September, 2025. In keeping the Minister abreast with previous engagements they had with the Ministry, Chairman Joseph Munda Bindi stated that NaCCED has already built a strong relationship with the Ministry of Finance adding that the visit is to cement the already existing sisterhood between the two institutions.
Mr. Bindi further went on to say that the National Budget of the Ministry which is very bulky to read, is one key area NaCCED has been working on with the Ministry to demystify it through the Citizen’s budget, an abridged version, which NaCCED recently produce. He confirmed that what NaCCED does is to interpret the National Budget in the simplest terms so that the ordinary man can understand how government generates revenues and how expenses are incurred.
Madam Jenneh Jabati in addressing the Chairman and his team, stated that the work of the Finance Ministry is enormous as they are working hard to close and loopholes in terms of tax evasion, but most importantly, pledged to work with NaCCED to improve on the engagement between the Ministry of Finance and the public with NaCCED as the trusted middle man.
Responding to the Minister, the Chairman also elaborated on future plans that NaCCED wishes to embark on and how these engagements and plans will require the collaboration of both institutions.
The Deputy Minister 2 emphasized that by her estimation the work of NaCCED is key to all Ministries Departments and Agencies for the development of Sierra Leone.
She said that since she assumed her new role, she is thrilled to meet and work with NaCCED as the work of NaCCED speaks to the change for the benefit of all.
