NaCCED SIGNS MoU WITH SIERRA LEONE BROADCASTING COOPERATION

The Chairman of the National Council for Civic Education and Democracy (NaCCED), Mr. Joseph Munda Bindi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Director General of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) to collaborate and strengthen the work of both institutions.

Mr. Bindi whilst addressing the Director General of SLBC, Madam Josephine Kamara and team said, the common mandate of both NaCCED and SLBC is to provide the citizenry of this country vital information that foster good governance and promote development for the benefit of all Sierra Leoneans; adding that both institutions have natured strong and effective partnership over the years which relationship needs to be consolidated.

Madam Josephine Kamara explained that SLBC has the highest broadcast reach across the country with 25 community stations and they also factor several local languages in their broadcast for diversity.

She further highlighted that SLBC also has the human capacity and this MoU between NaCCED and SLBC is a testament that SLBC has the channel and with the right civic message will be beneficial to the people and the country for development.

Deputy Director General of SLBC, Mr. Mohamed Asmieu Bah in his vote of thanks statement reaffirmed SLBC’s commitment to the MoU for the development of the country stressing that the relevance and marriage of NaCCED and SLBC will definitely be a win-win situation for both parties.

The Memorandum of Understanding seeks to provide civic content for airing through SLBC’s channels and platforms.
