
The Regional Coordinator for Anglophone Africa on Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI), Mr Godfred Ameyaw Asiedu has paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kalilu Totangi, Chairman, National Council for Civic Education and Democracy (NaCCED, who doubles as the Point of Contact (PoC) for the Open Government Partnership (OGP) for Sierra Leone, and the OGP Coordinator, Mrs Hannah Jimmy at the NaCCED headquarters in Freetown.
Mr. Asiedu told his hosts that he was visiting with them to “discuss opportunities for OGP Sierra Leone to feature transparency in the Fisheries Industries in the OGP platform”. He said it is important for OGP to work with the Fisheries sector on the availability of data, and to provide information on the fisheries policy and law enforcement in the fisheries industries among others. “
In his response Mr Totangi welcomed him and pledged his institution’s commitment to promoting the ideals of Open Government in the country. He said the OGP family will welcome the Fisheries Transparency Initiative onboard.
