
The Opening Ceremony of “Civic Education Sessions Around the Western Rural District,” at Goderich Community Center Freetown, on 19th January 2022, the Chairman of NaCCED Mr. Kalilu Totangi was invited by the Peninsula Descendant Association (PeDA) as guest of honor and principal funder of the event.
Addressing the august gathering, Mr. Totangi thanked the Association and expressed appreciation of such an impressive endeavor. He welcomed the idea and said, “NaCCED is ready to assist at any time as long as it borders on civic education issues.” Motivating and educating them on civic matters, the “high priest” of NaCCED, Chairman Totangi asked this pertinent question: “if football can bring us together as a country irrespective of where we belong or where we are coming from to support the National Team Leone Stars, what is stopping us from coming together to solve issues or execute developmental projects that are beneficial to our communities?”
Earlier, Mr. James Slowe, Tokeh village Headman, praised NaCCED for being a strong pillar and partner. He thanked Chairman Kalilu Totangi for his support, and expressed hope for continuation of the partnership.
Other important stakeholders present at the occasion included the Police, Navy, Youth, women, pupils, and other key community members
